Vancouver Magic Circle Policies

Entertainment Policy

  1. Every member shall be expected to entertain at least once a year. As this is a definite obligation of membership, it will therefore be necessary for every member to make this contribution when called upon.
  2. New members are expected to entertain within three months of entry date.
  3. Members are under no obligation to divulge any secrets.
  4. As certain members of the circle derive an important part of their income from shows, it is undesirable that any member should perform without adequate remuneration unless exempted by the executive.

Oath of Allegiance

I (Candidate Repeats Name) do hereby pledge on my word of honour, and with no mental reservations whatsoever, that I will conform to all the rules and regulations of the Vancouver Magic Circle, the International Brotherhood of Magicians, the Pacific Coast Association of Magicians and any other organizations with which this circle may be affiliated. I will co-operate with the Circle in the promotion of its objectives and will do all that is in my power to further the aims of the art of magic.

It is my purpose to promote at all times harmony among those interested in magic and its allied arts, I further promise never to reveal the modus operandi of any magic by any means.

I will always endeavour to prevent anyone from placing a legitimate performer in any predicament while they are before an audience. In addition to all this I promise to abide by the oath of ethics as decreed by the International Brotherhood of Magicians. All this I promise on my word of honour.
